Why Trenchless?
Why Trenchless?
Save Your Investment
Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) is viewed as an effective, trench-less method of installing underground utility pipes, cables, or conduits with very little disturbance to the ground above, whether it be fully established shrubs or trees, driveways, paved roads, environmentally sensitive areas, or river crossings. The cost of restoring a landscaped yard, driveway, or roadway can be huge.
Safety
We have been told that there is enough pipe in the ground in Alberta to wrap around the world twice. That is why there is such a need for our directional drilling procedure." In previous years, the only alternative was extensive open cut trenches.
Method of Choice
Directional drilling has become the method of choice for municipalities that don't want to dig into nicely paved roads just to lay some utilities. "Having to dig up a road is inconvenient and costly to repair. It is also harder to maintain after because those dug up areas always want to ripple or collapse with pot holes and there can be one re-patch after another. It is easier and less costly in the long run to directional drill underneath, and the road can stay open or be re-opened soon after. In the short-term it could be cheaper to bring in a backhoe but fixing the damage can often continue to cost."
